I get asked questions about our ‘recommended diet’ or my personal eating habits pretty regularly. For those of you who know me and my eating habits know that I stick to a pretty quasi-paleo diet – think 60% of the time, every time. How would I define quasi-paleo – I never touch gluten grains – like obsessively never touch them (fun fact: the last time I knowingly ate anything with grain in it was Thanksgiving 2011) – I do eat cheese/butter/cream cheese aka most diary although a stay away from milk because it’s gross, rarely booze and I love ice cream. Hence, quasi-paleo.
Now I could definitely flesh out my diet a little more and get into the real nitty gritty of it all but I believe in the ‘work harder, not smarter’ mantra. So rather than outlining my entire diet food by food, I’d rather just keep a food log and throw it up here for all to see – which is exactly what I’m going to do.
Now, without getting ahead of myself – and you may be asking yourself why I didn’t just do this sooner – it’s because I plan on making a major change to my diet. This coming week I’ll continue to eat exactly how I have the past few years and log/post every little thing I eat over the course of the day. However, starting next week I’ll be switching over to a paleo-zone diet (!!!) and that’s where the real fun begins.
That means weighing and measuring everything that goes into my body. As of right now, the game plan is to stick with my newly devised diet for a minimum of a month. If I like how my body responds and I don’t pull my hair out from all the calculations, then it might go a little longer.
So you can expect my food log to appear here every night. If you’re someone who’s interested or wondering why the hell I eat one thing and not the other feel free to ask. I plan on writing an article before the week is through outlining why I’m making the switch over to zone and what I hope to get out of it.
Wish me luck.
I’m off to buy an electric scale.
